While strategy remains core to the Forum agenda we have also recognised the increasing complexities inherent in the delivery of that strategy. With this in mind, and following extensive consultation with members, the Forum has introduced a new Associate Membership tier, aimed at those marketers responsible for delivering their organisation’s marketing strategy on a day-to-day basis.
The objective is two-fold:
- To help those responsible for the delivery of marketing strategy to improve their experience and expertise, thereby improving their marketing effectiveness.
- To help them better understand and respond to the strategic marketing issues facing their company.
What does Associate Membership involve?
As well as focusing on the dynamics of marketing delivery, Associate Member events also introduce some of the strategic issues that will be essential for their future development.
Events
Associate Membership offers six bi-monthly half-day events designed to improve effectiveness across a range of issues impacting on the current financial services marketing agenda.
Each event focuses on an area of marketing and addresses the specific (and often unique) issues and challenges within financial services, such as the impact of regulation, consumer buying behaviour, distribution channels, and customer acquisition and retention. An event, which typically runs for about four hours, will involve a series of speaker presentations, debate, a case study and networking opportunities. The speakers include senior financial services executives, academics and marketing specialists.
A unique element of the events is the use of award-winning case studies, drawn from The Financial Services Forum Awards for Marketing Effectiveness. These case studies show how effective marketing can add real and demonstrable value to the bottom line.

Meeting your contemporaries (and even competitors)
One of the most important elements of membership identified by Forum Members is the opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals from other sectors of the financial services sector. It provides an opportunity to talk to people who face the same issues and who have identified different ways of addressing them. Because we do not allow consultants, agencies or other vendors to join, the conversations and debate focus on the key issues facing you.

Argent is required reading for senior executives in financial services and is now also available online for Associate Members. It features thoughtful, informed articles written by leading academics, marketing practitioners and communications experts from around the world.
Access to the Forum knowledge base
The Financial Services Forum website provides a massive resource for financial marketers. The sophisticated, searchable database provides access to over six years of Forum presentations, over 500 Argent articles, research, advertising and marketing statistics, and other material.
Who is Associate Membership aimed at?
Associate Membership will be most relevant to those involved in the day-to-day delivery of marketing activity within financial services companies. Typically, they will have several years’ experience in either marketing, financial services, or a combination of the two.
