The recent announcement that Virgin Money's board will all be women shouldn't actually be news. After all, all male boards do not make the headlines.

Whilst it's obviously to be welcomed it's interesting, that it's unusual enough for it to make the news and does show that whilst women are very well represented in FS marketing, what about the step up from middle ranking jobs to running P&L and getting on the board?
